The Purple Plum Blooms! - Austin Photography

About this time every year I keep my eye on our purple plum tree. It has some of the most beautiful blooms. Following a cold day of sleet and grey skies, today the sun came out and warmed those little buds enough to begin opening up. And just like in years past, I grabbed my camera to get a few shots of the first blooms of the season.

Before you know it, the little tree will be covered in flowers as well as the bradford pears and other early spring bloomers. I love how nature sings!!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun! - Austin Portrait Photographer

We did this cool photo shoot with Lexi yesterday. Set up the studio in the house and fired away! It was so much fun that we are going to do it again with some more girls. If you are interested, let me know.

Like the title says, 'girls just wanna have fun'...and they do!! Lexi's dog, Elsie, wanted to get in on the action. I think she is a pretty fantastic model. Don't you?

Using Off Camera Flash - Austin Wedding Photographer

There was a time when I was not crazy about using flash. The pictures always looked so flat. But off camera flash (ocf)? Now that is something that I totally changed my thinking! It adds depth and dimension to an image and makes it come alive. Here is a photo using one off camera flash. I though about adding another but liked the outcome on this shot.

If you have not tried it, you should. The only limitation in using flash is in how you think!
