XL (Michael Vargas) at the Celebration Church Men's Conference - Austin Event Photography

I was blessed to shoot the Celebration Church Men's Conference last weekend. The theme of the event was "Fight". Yeah I was eager for this to start...and Friday night had a surprise opening. On stage were a shadow boxer and kick boxer. They were doing their thing- kicking and punching the air. The band was rocking a driving beat - then the follow spots hit the back of the auditorium to highlight XL (Michael Vargas). XL was wearing a boxer's robe. From that point XL began a hard thumpin' hip hop Christian rap. Ok I was pumped before, now I was beyond category juiced! The message of the song asked if we were ready for the fight.

Here's XL doing his stuff at the Men's Conference. If you get a chance to hear him, Do IT! Oh, and are you ready for "the fight"? Game on!

  3. Curious, as a Christian and a photographer do you ever struggle with what you take pictures of? I sometimes feel like I shouldn't do certain shoots because they don't equal with the Christian faith.

  4. Hey, Christine...I really appreciate the honesty in your message. I'll contact you later about it but in short I ask the Lord each day to point my camera in the direction that He would like for it to go. I believe that He will direct my path and help me to grow as an artist. My hope in this is that I will take a picture that tells His story and that this will become my his-tory!
